Mary A. Wells, Member, was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1977 and has successfully tried major product liability cases throughout the country, as well as having participated in innovative hearings concerning expert evidence issues. The National Law Journal named Ms. Wells one of the top 50 women litigators. She has been a member of the faculty at various trial practice programs sponsored by the International Association of Defense Counsel, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and the Defense Research Institute. In 2002 she was the director of the IADC Trial Academy. Sheryl L. Anderson, Member, was admitted to the Bar in Pennsylvania in 1980, and to the Colorado Bar in 1982. She has extensive local and regional experience in product liability litigation, arson and insurance fraud, insurance coverage, and bad faith litigation. Geoffrey S. Race, Special Counsel, has extensive experience in the Denver legal community having been admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1964. His practice, which is both local and regional, is concentrated in the areas of tort and product liability, construction litigation, insurance coverage, employment law and bad faith litigation. Mr. Race has served as an expert witness in coverage and bad faith litigation, and as a mediator and arbitrator in personal injury, contract, and coverage disputes. Cathy Havener Greer, Member, has been practicing law since 1976. After serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado and as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Missouri, she entered private practice in 1987 focusing her practice in the areas of employment and civil rights defense. Her practice includes the defense of public entities and officials and private employers in federal and state trial and appellate courts as well as before administrative agencies. A substantial portion of her practice also involves advising employers and conducting training on employment related issues. She is a frequent speaker in Colorado and nationally on employment, risk prevention and constitutional and civil rights issues. She participated in the Oxford Strategic Leadership Program at the University of Oxford Templeton College in 2002, and was an invited lecturer there in 2003. Ms. Greer is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and served as a member of the IADC Executive Committee from 2001 through 2004 and as a faculty member at the 1998 Defense Counsel Trial Academy. Suanne M. Dell, Member, was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1988. L. Michael Brooks, Jr., Member, clerked for two judges of the Colorado Court of Appeals (The Honorable Sandra Rothenberg and The Honorable Karen Metzger) before joining the firm in 1997. David G. Mayhan, Member, was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1985, and the Minnesota bar in 1987. He earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Iowa School of Law. His practice is concentrated in aviation law, product liability, insurance coverage law, commercial litigation and intellectual property. Before joining Wells, Anderson & Race in 2002 as Special Counsel, he was a Senior Attorney for the American Family Insurance Group in Denver, where his responsibilities included litigation and supervising outside counsel in litigation for American Family and its insureds throughout the western United States.
